The Sisters of Notre Dame will host the 5th Annual SHINE Women’s Summit on Thursday, November 12 at The Premier, 4480 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo. This event will bring women of all faiths, ages and backgrounds together and encourage them to support, honor, inspire, nurture and empower each other.

This year’s theme, The Heart of a Champion, will focus on the contributions women have made in the area of sports and athletics with keynote guest WNBA player and Toledo native, Zia Cooke.

The Summit will also feature a panel discussion with Sister Jenny Zimmerman, SND, former college athlete and athletic trainer; Amanda Jerzykowski, Digital Marketing Manager for the Toledo Mud Hens, Toledo Walleye and Hensville; and Linda Jefferson, former Toledo Trooper and American Football Hall of Fame inductee.

“Empowering women has been a common thread in our ministries since the Sisters of Notre Dame was founded in 1850,” said Sister Mary Carol Gregory, SND Mission Advancement Advisor. “As a congregation, SND has always responded to the needs of the times. Positive encouragement of, and among, women is certainly a need right now.”

Doors open at 4 p.m. for an optional welcome reception that will showcase nonprofit organizations and feature interactive activities. The speakers’ program and dinner begin at 6 p.m.
