Resonant: From Stillness to Dance

From stillness to dance — the title traces the exact arc of this program. The Worthington Chamber Orchestra opens its Resonant Masterworks season, and its year-long celebration of the 200th anniversary of Beethoven’s death, with Rimsky-Korsakov’s dazzling Capriccio espagnol and Manuel de Falla’s Nights in the Garden of Spain, featuring guest pianist Orlay Alonso in one of the Spanish repertoire’s most richly atmospheric works. The concert culminates in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 in A major — the work Wagner famously called “the apotheosis of the dance,” and a fitting opening statement for a season built around his enduring legacy. https://worthington.org/calendar.aspx?EID=9413
