ORRRC Gift Exchange 5k

PLEASE NOTE THE TIME CHANGE! THE RACE WILL BEGIN AT 2:30 P.M. THIS YEAR

This fun, low-key event is not your everyday ORRRC race. The Gift Exchange 5k is a fun way to celebrate the holidays through running. Instead of an entry fee, all participants are to bring a wrapped gift (valued at around $10). At the end of the race, we will have a giant gift exchange (hence the name of the race) among all participants.

RACE START: 2:30 p.m.

LOCATION: Kettering Recreation Complex, 2900 Glengarry Drive, Kettering, OH 45420.

REGISTRATION: Registration is available to all through RunSignup prior to the race. Online registration remains open until about 15 minutes before the race start and can be done in person at the race. Hard copy registration sheets are also available on race day if needed. Parents or guardians may register minors on RunSignup or in person, with a parent or guardian present to sign the waiver.

CHECK-IN: All participants must check in before the race and attach their assigned timing chip to one shoe. Look for the table with the green tablecloth to get your chip.

We recommend arriving at least one hour before the race to park, check in, and warm up before the race starts.

FEES: There are no traditional entry fees for this race. Instead of an entry fee, all participants should bring a wrapped gift valued at around $10 to enter the gift exchange.

AWARDS: All participants will receive a gift through the gift exchange. Overall male and overall female winners will receive a special gift in addition to the exchange gift. Please note: do not bring alcoholic beverages or adult gifts to this race – this is a family-friendly event, and children may receive your gift during the exchange.

ANIMAL POLICY: Due to our insurance coverage, animals are not permitted at any ORRRC event. The only exception is service dogs, which must be clearly identified. Persons with any other animals will be removed from the event (will not be issued a timing chip, and will not appear in results or photos). We thank you in advance for your cooperation!
